Reiwa 710Month1The "Fisheries Sustainability (Maruha Nichiro, Seven & i, Ito Scholarship Foundation) Endowed Chair" to be established on the 1st will aim for sustainable development, which is essential for conducting international fisheries business, and will provide education and research to acquire systematic knowledge to ensure sustainability in all processes related to the seafood food system, from fisheries production (theory of fishing regulations, etc.) to processing, distribution, retail, and consumption (labeling, certification, traceability, procurement policy design, etc.). The faculty member will actively disseminate this knowledge both domestically and internationally, and will develop human resources who can contribute to the realization of a sustainable Japanese fisheries industry, and will also be responsible for recurrent education for not only current students but also working adults.
