[Details of award-winning research]
In marine fish farming, there is a need to reduce substances discharged into the environment and the fish meal contained in the feed. We are therefore conducting research into a material recycling type of aquaculture in which the microalgae Spirulina is cultivated in wastewater from marine fish farming and used as an alternative protein feed ingredient to fish meal.

In this study, we used the amberjack grouper, a fish species targeted for marine aquaculture.Epinephelus malabaricusFor SpirulinaArthrospira platensis In order to develop a compound feed containing this ingredient, test feed was prepared with different fish meal replacement ratios and feeding tests were conducted.

As a result, fish meal was replaced with spirulina powder.25%or50The replacement feed showed higher growth rates than fish meal.75In the test area where the percentage was replaced3Of these,1It was also found that poor feeding occurred in two tanks, and that it was necessary to improve the feeding rate by adding a feeding inducer, etc.90% or more. Based on this, it is currently believed that spirulina powder50%It was suggested that it is possible to substitute fish meal up to 100g/kg.

The results of this research demonstrate the possibility of using microalgae to replace fishmeal in marine fish feed, providing new insight that will contribute to the development of material-circulating aquaculture, and were highly praised by the judges.
